Fantastic Sweet and Sour Sauce

“I have searched the internet for the best sweet and sour sauce, and finally after much research went back to basics. I starting with pineapple juice adding ingredients one by one and testing as I go. I found that cider vinegar was better suited to my pallet than white wine vinegar, and leaving the soy sauce out altogether made it taste to much of pineapple.”

Directions

  1. Mix cornflour with a little of the pineapple juice, and add all ingredients to a saucepan and slowly bring to the boil stirring continuously.
  2. Add small amount of red food colouring (optional).
