Feathered Friends Fruit "bread"

"this is great to hang outside for the birds...if you can keep the squirrels away..I like to make and give this as gifts to my friends..always a hit..you will need to save the mesh bags, like onions or potato bags for this recipe..you may use other dried fruit that raisins.."

directions

  • stir together flour, oats and baking powder -- add fruit.
  • beat eggs, add milk, then oil.
  • stir into dry ingredients.
  • pour into 2 (8" or 9") greased square pans.
  • bake at 375* for 20 minutes.
  • let cool, then crumble and fill mesh bags, like onions bags.
  • and hang outside for birds.
  • squirrels love it as well.
  • this is good to use leftover dried fruit that is a little past its prime -- .

I love cooking, and reading Christian fiction..I have 5 grandchildren..4 boys and 1 spoiled granddaughter...I also have a black cocker spaniel named Tobey..who is very spoiled..Love computer games, cross stitch and reading cookbooks..I was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia almost a year ago, on September 26, 2005....was in an out of the hospital for 8 months, doing intensive chemo...I am doing well now, thanks for all the prayers...
