"I'm posting this to celebrate Germany making the World Cup semifinals. Along with football/soccer, Germans really seem to love apples. Also, you can mix the meat up a bit by using a bit of ground pork in place of some of the beef, or even go a little healthier by using ground turkey, something I've taken to doing quite a bit recently (you'll hardly notice the difference really)."

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F Combine all of the ingredients, except the bacon, in a large bowl and mix well. Spray a loaf pan with cooking spray and add the meat mixture. Place the bacon slices on top, and bake for at least 90 minutes.
  • Remove from the oven. Let cool for at least 10 minutes, then slice and serve, making sure everyone gets a little bacon.
