  • place the cleaned sprouts in a large saucepan,cover with water + salt.Bring to boil and cook uncovered 10-15 mins until tender.
  • Heat the butter in frying pan until it browns, add drained sprouts and coof on all sides until lightly browned.
  • Transfer to heated serving dish, sprinkle with nutmeg,salt & pepper and serve.

  2. My friend gave me this recipe years ago and I have been making sprouts this way ever since. The addition of nutmeg is excellent!! If I am having guests, I cook the sprouts until just tender, drain, (put them in ice water to preserve the bright green colour) and store them in the fridge until needed. When ready to serve I finish the cooking. Brown butter carefully, it will burn quickly!! A nice easy recipe.

I am a widow-grandmother of 4- three girls and one boy. My birthday is 21.08.38 I live in the Galil-northern Israel. I am retired, but keep busy with volunteer work with seniors and also with children-not forgetting my great gransdchildren.The eldest is almost 17 and the youngest(the boy) is going to be 10 in August.
