- 2 cups flour
- 1 1⁄2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 teaspoons oil
- 3⁄4 cup warm water
directions
- In a large mixing bowl combine flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Add oil and use your hands to mix.
- Add the water and work dough into a sticky ball.
- Let rest for 15 to 30 minutes wrapped in a towel or plastic wrap.
- Divide dough into balls (size varies depending how large or small you want your tortillas).
- Heat your cast iron skillet or griddle to medium or medium high.
- On a well-floured pastry board or counter roll to about 1/8" to 1/4" thick. If the dough is sticky, add a little flour.
- Cook on each side for less than a minute (brown spots on both sides).
- Store tortillas inside a damp towel and place in a 200 degree oven to keep warm until ready to serve.
