French Apple Pie

  • Heat oven to 425. Prepare pastry.
  • mix sugar, flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt in large bowl.
  • Stir in apples.
  • Turn into pastry-lined pie plate.
  • Make crumb topping by combining flour, brown sugar, and butter until crumbly.
  • Bake 50 minutes. In last 10 minutes of baking to prevent excessive browning, cover with aluminum foil.
  • Serve warm.

  1. Can you use a crust on Top? I know it has a bottom crust.
