I have made this sandwich recipe many times and it is always a hit with my family. For me, the best part about this recipe (besides that it is delicious, I mean!), is that the leftovers make a rockin' stroganoff! Because the sandwiches are so filling, we always have leftover meat and liquid. Just cook up some egg noodles, add some of the leftover meat, sour cream, shredded parmesan, fresh ground black pepper, and enough of the "au jus" gravy to get it to the consistency you like. OMG--so good you forget you're eating leftovers. Add a salad and some garlic bread. mmmmm Far better than any other crockpot stroganoff recipe (and I've just about tried them all), and just as easy to make. Plus you get two meals out of the effort for one! And it's different enough from the French Dip sandwiches that no one gets bored with leftovers. I don't bother sauteeing the onions in butter. I leave out the butter and just add the onions right into the crockpot. Excellent, excellent recipe, and I can't believe I haven't rated this one sooner. This one is a real find.

This recope is one of the best sandwich recipes that I have ever had. I had a ton of mushrooms that were getting ready to go bad if I did not use them so I sauteed them with the onions. When I got the beef out of the crockpot, I went to slice it and it just fell apart. Either way it was excellent!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Everyone MUST try this recipe. A total keeper in my book. Absolutely suberb. I also looked at your web site. You have a beautiful family. Yourself included. Thank you so much for the great recipe. This will be a must make recipe in our family.

I Started cooking in order to avoid starvation in college. I am by no means a gourmet cook, but I do enjoy messing around in the kitchen.
