French Onion Soup

- 2 tablespoons oil
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 6 onions, sliced
- 4 (10 1/2 ounce) cans beef broth
- 3⁄4 cup white wine
- French bread
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1⁄2 cup mozzarella cheese
- 1⁄2 cup medium cheddar cheese
directions
- Sauté onions in oil and butter on low for 30 minutes.
- Simmer broth and wine for 30 minutes.
- Add onions to broth mixture.
- Toast 4-6 slices French bread. Butter and sprinkle with garlic powder. Break toast into pieces and place in onion soup bowl.
- Ladle the soup in the bowls.
- Cover with shredded cheese. Broil until brown.

<br>I guess the dish that I am famous for is my Christmas ham - my family all comes home for Christmas, and if i don't have my ham they are dissapointed, and my grandson wants the pistachio squares!!! so I guess that is the dishes that I'm famous for.
