1. I got this recipe in the early 80's out of an Avon book. Now let me start with saying this has to be the most delicious soup I've ever made, who's ever recipe this is I want to thank you for sharing a phominal soup. I'm rating this soup a Five Stars ?????

 2. My friend gave me this recipe over 25 years ago. My family LOVES it! Sometimes, I'll add more beans and chicken. It's better the next day; I just add more water when it seems too thick. I have also used gallon zip lock freeze bags to freeze leftovers. So good with a loaf of crusty french bread!

 3. Irmgard, if you still have not tried this soup, you have got to give it a try. It is wonderful and I loved the flavors. The broth has so much flavor in it, that you will never be bored with this soup. You could get a different taste with each bite depending on if you had a piece of ham or sausage on your spoon. This was made in a crockpot. I cooked all the meats on High for about 4 hours, de-boned them and put it all back into the pot. I will be making this again.
I live with my husband, four cats, and a sweet mutt named Jada in Scarborough, Ontario, where I work as an elementary school administrative assistant. I have a 31 year old daughter who lives with her boyfriend in nearby Don Mills, along with my sweet granddogs, Frankie and Turbo. I would have to say that my passion is animals, since I have so many of them!

If I had a month off work to do what I please, I would first catch up on my sleep and then just have fun - see a few movies and maybe take a couple of short trips - something that wouldn't break the bank - lol!
