  1. Whisk egg, milk, vanilla, powdered sugar, flour, cinnamon, and salt.
  2. Slice bread about half an inch thick if it is not already cut.
  3. Dip both sides of the bread in batter and place onto a hot, lightly buttered griddle set at 350 degrees.
  4. Flip when bread is "toasted" and cook on other side.
  5. Remove from griddle and sprinkle with powdered sugar.
  6. Serve with maple syrup.
