Ingredients Nutrition

  • 12 cup sugar
  • 18 teaspoon salt
  • 4 egg yolks (slightly beaten)
  • 2 cups hot milk
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla (make sure it is pure and the best you can afford)
  • 1 pint heavy cream

Directions

  1. Mix sugar, salt and yolks together in a heavy bottomed pan.
  2. Slowly stir in hot milk.
  3. Cook over med.
  4. heat, continuing to stir until slightly thickened.
  5. Remove from heat and cool.
  6. Add cream and vanilla extract.
  7. Chill and place in ice cream freezer.
  8. Follow manufacturer's instructions.
