Ingredients: 1 1/2 cups Crisco; 2 cups sugar; 3 eggs; 3 cups flour; 2 teaspoons vanilla; 1 teaspoon baking soda; 2 teaspoons cinnamon; 1/2 teaspoon salt; 3 cups diced apples; 1 cup nuts; 1/2 cup buttermilk; 1/2-1 cup butter; 1 cup brown sugar; 1/4 cup heavy cream

ingredients

1 ¹⁄₂ cups Crisco
2 cups sugar
3 eggs
3 cups flour
2 teaspoons vanilla
1 teaspoon baking soda
2 teaspoons cinnamon
¹⁄₂ teaspoon salt
3 cups diced apples
1 cup nuts
¹⁄₂ cup buttermilk
TOPPING
¹⁄₂ - 1 cup butter
1 cup brown sugar
¹⁄₄ cup heavy cream

directions

Mix cake ingredients by hand and pour into a tube pan.
Bake in preheated 350°F oven for 1 1/2 hours.

Boil 2 1/2 minutes and pour over cake while cake is still hot.
