I received 2 bunches of flowers recently. One bunch of carnations for Valentine's Day the second bunch were tropical flowers for my birthday. The carnations look like I just bought them yesterday and my Birds of Paridise are still looking beautiful! My guilty pleasure is having cut flowers in my house, so I will definately be doing this solution again! Thanks for the recipe!

My DH bought me 1/2 dozen red roses for Mother's Day. I clipped the end of the stems and placed them in a vase with this recipe. The first day the roses were opening nicely and looked wonderful. The second and third day 4 of my roses along with the baby's breath and leaves had wilted. I was going to throw them away and decided to wait a day or two and very happy I did. My roses perked back up and were such a pretty red that they looked like they were velvet. I also used tap water and next time will use bottled water. My roses lasted 6 days which is pretty good for me.

Most of my recipes are dairy free since I discovered many years ago that I am lactose intolerant. While I have had to give up some much-loved recipes, we have discovered that most can be modified to accommodate the changes to our diet. Most of my recipes say dairy free but there are a few from my childhood that may have dairy! I also have an intolerance to MSG so we spend a lot of time reading labels. Usually, it is just easier to cook from scratch, so we don't use many pre-made foods from the grocery store.</p> I like recipes I can make with minimal ingredients, real food I have in my kitchen, that are also easy to make!
