  1. Just made this for my husband's birthday. It was very good. I put the strawberry/jello mixture in the fridge to set up a bit before I poured it in the pie crust. It only took about 15 minutes to gel up.

  2. Oh my goodness, this was delicious. I didn't have quite enough stawberries (a little mouse must of gotten into my refrigerator...lol) but it was still wonderful. This is such a simple pie. I plan on making this again soon as the strawberry season is nearing. Thank you so much for sharing this wonderful recipe.

  3. Excellent strawberry pie! It set up really well and tasted much better than store-bought glaze. I used cherry jello, but no one could tell the difference.

  4. FAN-TAS-TIC!!!! wouldn't change a thing and will be making this again in the NEAR future.

  5. Makes a beautiful pie which everyone loved. With gorgeous red sliced strawberries, this pie sets up nicely and looks beautiful, perfect when sliced and served with whipped cream. I usually make a pie without jello which doesn't set up nearly as well or look as pretty. However didn't care for the gelatin texture with strawberries. I must be particular in my tastes cause everyone else loved it. Thanks for sharing your recipe!

Tweaks

  1. I use: 2 Cups Water 1 Cup Sugar 4 Tablespoons Cornstarch I dont add the gelatin until after the other glaze ingredients are well heated. My pie comes out with a much more solid gel.

  2. Excellent, light and flavorfull finish to a heavy meal.I've made a similar recipe before but had lost the recipe years ago.Instead of a pie crust I used frozen prepared tart shells. Once everything was set and well chilled I used a canned whipping cream to garnish each tart. They were a beautiful addition to a tray that included individual carrot cakes and chocolate dipped strawberries. Thnkas for the inspiration!

After DH and I moved away from the farm, and to the city...I haven't done as much cooking and very little canning. But I do come to Zaar and look for new recipes once in a while. I'm still cooking Zaar!! I like to play at Facebook, with my family and friends. A lot of my Zaar friends are there!! Yay! It's a good way to keep in touch. We travel more. We're looking at the European trips now. Hope to go in the springtime. I really want to see London, I think I lived there in a past life, I've been obsessed with it since I was 10 years old!!
