Fresh Tomato Salsa

"What to do with all the tomatoes in your garden. Very fresh garden ripe flavors and homemade goodness. Also makes a great topper for sautéed chicken breasts, just add to pan last 2 min. of cooking."

  • Mix all ingredients in glass bowl.
  • Cover and refrigerate for 1 hour.
  • Serve with your favorite chip.

  1. this is AWESOME! My only suggestion is to drain the tomatoes as you are chopping them. Also, wear RUBBER (not latex) gloves while handling the jalopeno. I suffered with hot-pepper-burns for 1.5 days after making this, and there doesn't seem to be anything you can do about it.
     
  2. Seemed bland. I liked 32906 better, but I had to fuss with figuring out measurements for ingredients. I would say, add some cumin and pepper and maybe next time around I'll like it better.
     
  3. Delicously fresh!!! I made it with my garden tomatoes...yummy!!! I didn't have a green peppers so I omited it and the taste is still outstandign!!
     
  4. Great taste and texture! Suggestion! After handling the jalapeno chile, wash your hands and rub them well with a stainless spoon. That removes the smell and sting of the peppers. Works well for onion and garlic too. (Haven't a clue why, but it seems to be a chemical reaction.)

After DH and I moved away from the farm, and to the city...I haven't done as much cooking and very little canning. But I do come to Zaar and look for new recipes once in a while. I'm still cooking Zaar!! I like to play at Facebook, with my family and friends. A lot of my Zaar friends are there!! Yay! It's a good way to keep in touch. We travel more. We're looking at the European trips now. Hope to go in the springtime. I really want to see London, I think I lived there in a past life, I've been obsessed with it since I was 10 years old!!
