  1. Slice the tomato thickly, about as thick as a slice of bread.
  2. Spread the bread with mayonnaise.
  3. Place the tomato on one slice.
  4. Sprinkle with salt, pepper and Italian seasoning.
  5. Place provolone cheese on the other slice of bread; place on top of the tomato-covered bread.
  6. Cut the sandwich in half.
