Fried Apples

"My mother use to make this for us kids when we were growing up. It's great served along side of polish sausage. It's one that is on my list of comfort foods. I like to leave the skin on the apples, but you can peel if you like."

  • 4 large apples, corred and sliced
  • 1 small onion, quartered, and pulled apart
  • 4 slices bacon, cut up
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 dash salt

directions

  • Cook bacon until almost done, and add onion. Cook until translucent. Add the apples. Season with sugar and salt. I sometimes add a bit more sugar, depending on how tart the apples are.

<p>I have 5 kids, 4 girls and 1 boy. We all enjoy food. And i love to cook, just hate the cleanup part.....lol...... I drive my kids crazy sometimes, because if there's a Paula Deen show on, i monopolize the tv. She is my cooking gooroo.</p>
