"My sweet honey-man made this for dinner. He knows how much I love shrimp and especially fried shrimp. Turned out so great. Recipe is from Southern Living."

  • 2 lbs unpeeled fresh large shrimp
  • 1 (12 ounce) package fish-fry mix (Zatarain's Fish-Fri)
  • 1 - 1 12 tablespoon all purpose Greek seasoning (Cavender's)
  • vegetable oil

directions

  • Peel and devein shrimp; set aside.
  • In a large bowl or shallow dish mix together the fish-fry mix and Greek seasoning.
  • Dredge shrimp in mixture.
  • Pour oil to about 1 1/2-inch depth in a cast-iron dutch oven; heat to 360°.
  • Fry shrimp, a few at a time, for 1 minute; drain shrimp on paper-towel lined plate.
  • Enjoy!

  4. Nurse Di you are definately one of my very favorite chefs. This dish was very tasty. Next time, I would cut the Cavenders in half. It was kinda salty, but the flavor and texture was great!
     
  5. I cut this recipe in half and made this for shrimp Po'boy sandwiches. Perfect coating, very light and cripy so the shrimp flavor really stands out. DH liked it so much that he declared it is now his favorite sandwich. Has requested I make it again this week! Truly wonderful!
