"An easy way to make fudge pops that kids will love. I've put the original recipe in, but feel free to use sugar free pudding or Splenda in place of the regular pudding and sugar."

  1. I've made these before and heard a wonderful hint from another source: If you're using dixie cups, place them on a tray/plate/etc. after they're filled. Cover the cups snugly with a sheet of Saran wrap (or equivalent brand). Use a sharp knife to start a small hole above each cup, then poke the popsicle sticks through the holes. The Saran wrap will help keep the sticks upright, and you don't have to worry about forgetting to put the sticks in at the right time and winding up with a bunch of little cups of stickless pudding pops! Been there, done that! :D

  2. I haven't had a pudding pop since my children were little. I made this using vanilla pudding because that was my favorite. My grandaughter really like them even the adults wanted one. Now that they have had them again they want me to make other flavors. Thanks alijen. Bullwinkle

  3. This was well recieved by all. All I had on hand was vanilla pudding, and they turned out great. Now I need to try chocolate, and always have pudding on hand. Instead of getting out the mixer (kitchen Aid) and having to clean up, I mixed it in a 1Litre mason jar. The kids had fun shaking and minimal clean up for me. Made 14 tupperware Ice tups. Mix sugar and pudding first then add milk. Wonderfull.

  4. I made 2 batches-1 chocolate and 1 vanilla. For the optimum richness I used half and half instead of regular milk. You know...too late now, but my eldest DS loves mint/chocolate, and I should have tried adding some peppermint extract. Next time!! Thank You for a recipe that I'm having fun with!

  5. This is a tough one for me to rate. For taste I'd say a 3.5. But for ease and cost and the fact that my kids love them as much as the VERY expensive store bought kind, I'll go with the 5. I used fat free/sugar free pudding and splenda to make pops very similar to the ones I buy that are 2 WW points a piece. The taste of these reminds me of the Weight Watchers brand ones (which I am not terribly fond of because they have a splenda aftertaste). There is a slight splenda aftertaste. That said my kids devoured them. So I will make them again. Thanks!

I'm a graduate student studying agricultural economics, originally from Georgia. (Go dawgs!) I try to eat very healthy, most often low-carb. But, I do love sweets sometimes. I like to bake for others so much- so I do it all the time and have become known for just stopping by with casseroles, brownies etc..
