  1. Preheat oven to 375.
  2. If fruit is frozen, thaw but do not drain.
  3. Place fruit in a 2-quart square baking dish.
  4. Stir in the granulated sugar.
  5. For topping, in a medium bowl combine the oats, brown sugar, flour, and nutmeg.
  6. Cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  7. Stir in the nuts.
  8. Sprinkle topping over filling.
  9. Bake for 30 to 35 minutes (40 minutes for thawed fruit) or until fruit is tender and topping is golden.
  10. Cool slightly.
  11. Serve warm with ice cream if desired.
