  1. A great, simple way to make plain fruit a bit more appealing. Works great with picky, little kids. I used some strawberry jam that I warmed up and spooned over the top instead of the puree.

  2. A caramel colored waffle bowl filled with colorful fruit topped with strawberry puree would be perfect for a luncheon or any other festive occasion. This is very easy to put together when you need something fast to impress those unexpected guest that drop in for a visit. What a tempting way to serve fresh fruit and the best part of this…no dishes to wash.

  3. This is a great idea. Made my homemade sugar cones a little smaller than the ones you buy. Drizzled some chocolate in the bottoms and let get solid. Then filled to the brim with fresh sliced strawberries, and small chunks of fresh pineapple. Topped each with a dollap of Nutri whip,, and grating of chocolate. Was a nice looking dessert. Thanks for the eay and simple recipe, that everyone enjoys.

  4. I loved this and think it would be a cute idea for picnics and a great way to get kids to eat fruit in the summer. I used strawberries, bananas, kiwi, and cantelope and smaller homemade waffle cones. Thanks for sharing this great idea Paula!

  5. Delish and so much fun to make! We just used strawberries and bananas and this actually tasted like ice cream without the fat and calories! We will be making these all summer just changing the fruit - I bet these would be wonderful even using frozen berries in addition to what ever fresh fruit is on hand. Thanks for sharing this keeper!

RECIPE SUBMITTED BY

I came to this site in March of 2004. It was then called Recipezaar. This site was the first on-line site that I ever joined. I first popped in 2003 while searching for a Peach Cobbler Recipe. In March of 2004, DH was having shoulder surgery and I was looking for a Split Pea Soup. Once again I found myself on Zaar as it came to be called. Over the years I hung out and learned from some of the best home cooks in the country, I posted over 700 recipes on the site, reviewed over 3500 recipes and posted over 3000 food photos. Over the next 10 years the site made many changes and in 2010 it was sold to to Food Network and became Food.com. Until last year we played games, talked and shared with one another. As a result of the community and the relationships I built I got to meet some wonderful people from all over the country. I also have a great number of friends that I have never meet face to face. Some of us still hang out at various places across the net. Zaar was more than a cooking community. It was an internet community of friendship. Life is an adventure ever changing.
