"I've never really like the flavor of fresh green beans until I prepared them this way. I always get a request to make these from my husband. I think he would eat these everyday if I let him!"

  1. These were really, really good. I thought they were very flavorful without overpowering the taste of the beans. Thanks very much for the recipe. These will be made often here!

  2. In my opinion, they could use more flavor. I added toasted almonds for a nice crunch, but the oil and garlic didn't add the flavor I was looking for to the beans.

  3. Jeanette, Thanks for this great side dish,I was afraid it would be too oily as ducky said,so I cut the oil down to 1 Tablespoon, and I used canned green beans as I had no fresh ones, but it turned out great.I thought these were very tasty. Thanks Darlene

  4. This was easy to make. However, it didn't seem to have too much flavor and it had A LOT of extra oil; so much that I had to drain the beans. I used fresh beans from the local farmer's market and extra garlic.

  5. I thought these were great. I didn't add quite as much garlic, but then I used the refrigerated type that is like using fresh. I thought it would be too much. My family liked this one too. Even my 10 year old liked them.

My name is Jeanette and I was born and raised in Houston, Texas! I came across this website one day while doing a search on the computer for a really good salisbury steak recipe (which came out great...thanks to recipe# 23811) Since then, I make it a daily routine to log into Recipezaar at least 2 or 3 times a day. I feel like I've viewed every recipe in here but to my amazement I always find myself printing a recipe that I must have overlooked. My Recipezaar collection of recipes has gotten so big that I had to make a special binder just to keep track of all the new recipes that I have printed out. I love trying out new recipes on my husband and to tell you the truth he doesn't mind at all...what a good husband! For a while there it felt like I was cooking the same thing over and over each week. Not anymore though...thanks to all of you and Recipezaar :)
