Garlicky Yellow Rice

"This is a nice rice to make especially when you want a nice color contrast. With the turmeric, it colors the dish a dark yellow. From Quick and Easy Weeknights."

 1. This was a great basic rice recipe! It came together quickly and easily and was super tasty! The turmeric, garlic and (spring) onions made for a lovely flavour combination.
I used a mix of wild rice, rice, barley, oat kernels and buckwheat instead of just plain rice and that worked out really well.
THANK YOU SO MUCH for sharing this keeper with us, lazyme. Made and reviewed for WTTM December 2010.

 2. VERY good! I served this with Recipe#260950 I used chicken broth instead of water and sauteed the Turmeric along with the onions. I do that with curry powder, cumin and paprika as well. It makes a big difference.

 3. Very good, a little too oily.

 4. For us the rice was bland besides tasting the onions and garlic. So next time I will use chicken stock instead. The color was great. Thanks Lazyme :) Made for PAC Fall 2012

 5. This rice was garlicky indeed! It went well with our grilled chicken. Thanks for posting the recipe.

 3. I enjoyed this recipe very much, I took the suggestion of one of the reviews to use chicken broth instead of water. I used garlic powder instead of garlic cloves because we were out of garlic but had all the other ingredients at hand. That worked ok, but I think it will be nicer next time I try it with fresh garlic. I served it with fish. Thanks for sharing this recipe!

 4. This was a great recipe. The directions were perfect and resulted in fluffy, tasty rice. I think next time I will replace half, if not all of the water with chicken broth to add another layer of flavour.

 5. Outstanding! I do not cook my rice on the stove but in a rice cooker in the microwave. My water and my rice amounts would be different.. but this is very good. I used cilantro instead of green onions since there was white onions in the mix already.
