directions

  • Heat cream in skillet until just about to boil. Add zest and juice of one lemon. It will immediately start to thicken.
  • Turn heat down to low. Add garlic powder and salt. Stir for 1 minute.
  • Add cheese and stir until melted.
  • Serve over your favorite pasta. We like angel hair cause it's done at about the same time your sauce gets finished.
  • I often add cooked shrimp or meatballs (the Italian baked ones from this site are excellent). But bacon or sausage is also good.

Questions & Replies

  1. By cream do you mean heavy cream or light cream or neither of those :) ?

  1. Wow.. this was delicious. I used fresh garlic and sun dried tomatoes... crushed red pepper.. . and thinned it out with a little chicken broth. This recipe has many possibilities. It got rave reviews from my company. They licked their plates.

  2. I served this over a wild mushroom ravioli and it was fabulous! Thanks for a great recipe.

  3. I printed this recipe on February 25, 2012 and just finally got around to making it tonight. I put it with angel hair pasta and broccoli and it was delicious. Super easy to make and then the taste was just perfect. It was lighter than alfredo and had a nice zing to it. Loved it. <br/>Next time will pair with a grilled chicken breast, probably marinated in italian dressing...

I am a retired nurse/nursing professor. I?ve been married to a great guy for 48 years. I love to garden and grow my own vegetables and flowers. I home can and freeze foods extensively. I?ve always had a love of cooking, but now it?s just the two of us, so I need to learn to cook in smaller quantities. I?ve always worked full time and often with a sideline part time job as well so I?m used to cooking double and freezing half for later. I don?t have to do that anymore and it?s been an adjustment. With the Covid pandemic we rarely eat out so this website has been a real blessing!?
