ingredients

4 medium sweet potatoes
1 lb pork sausage (bulk)
4 apples, sliced
¹⁄₄ cup brown sugar
4 tablespoons sausage fat
¹⁄₄ cup hot water
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

directions

Boil sweet potatoes in their skins. Peel and cut into strips lengthwise and put in bottom of casserole.
Brown sausage on both sides in frying pan; place over potatoes and cover with sliced apples.
Mix sausage fat, hot water, brown sugar, and Worcestershire sauce; pour over all.
Bake at 350* for 40 minutes. Keep covered until last 10 minutes.
