  • In a large bowl, combine the first six ingredients.
  • Crumble beef over mixture and mix well.
  • Shape into 1-in. balls.
  • Place on a greased rack in a shallow baking pan.
  • Bake at 400° for 15 minutes; drain.
  • Meanwhile, in a large saucepan, combine the remaining ingredients.
  • Add meatballs.
  • Bring to a boil.
  • Reduce heat; cover and simmer for 30-35 minutes or until vegetables are tender.
  • Discard bay leaf before serving.

  2. This was very easy to put together and smelled wonderful while cooking. I only wish that I had thickened the liquid to make a gravy. This was more soup-like than stew-like. Thanks for sharing this. Made for ZWT6.
     
  3. I have made this recipe several times now and it is excellent! I use ground turkey instead of ground beef. I also use whole grain bread crumbs and an organic french onion soup mix. I also do not add the sugar. Everyone in the family loves this recipe!
