  • Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
  • Combine sugar, cornstarch, flour, cocoa and salt.
  • Add eggs, butter and milk; then coconut and vanilla.
  • Pour into pastry shell and bake for 35-40 minutes.
  • Top will be crusty and firm.

  2. I chose this recipe for PAC fall '07 and it is another winner from this chef. My mom used to prepare something similar to this and I just loved it. Thanks for posting and for bringing back wonderful memories.
     
  3. Really easy. I also used walnuts. The pie smells great while baking. I made it as a tart and would consider serving it with a scoop of white ice cream or some good stiff whipped cream just to offset the brownness of it. Nice to have a pie recipe you just throw together!
