This received mixed reviews. dh wouldn't go near it because it had green beans (too bad, I'm the cook & *I* love 'em!) but my close friend who has a German relative pegged this as typically German instantly & loved it! The rest of us liked it well enough but not an overwhelming favorite. Not sure why, because all the components are yummy. Maybe it's an odd combination for us? Ah well...made & reviewed for German Tag 4/12.

This was pretty bland. Although it seemed like it was going to be the perfect amount of dressing. I did leave it some while with the dressing on before it was served, maybe that is why? I used normal size Canadian English cucumbers, shallots for the onion, the optional tomatoes for which I used grape tomatoes as that is what I had on hand. I used canola oil, white vinegar, sea salt and the freshly ground black pepper I also did add some sugar per preference here. I wouldn't make this salad again. Made for ZWT6 Germany/Benelux region for my team, The Ya Ya Cookerhood.
