Cold potato salad has always been a tradition with all my German family members (Bavarian) Warm German potato not so much. I've only found several German restaurant warm recipes I liked. This sounds like a good one jawohl! My problem is cooking potatoes correctly on stove top. Any quick easy ways? Thanx! Danka! Have a great weekend.

I used to fix this for my mother and I when she came for lunch during her workday.. We liked to eat it hot. And of course it's delicious cold too. I clean the potatoes and cook them in the microwave but don't overcook them and then you can peel them or just slice or cube the potatoes before adding the rest of the ingredients.

This is a nice, simple German-American style potato salad that tastes just like I expected it to. :) This style of potato salad is nice and vinegar-y, and it reminds me of my childhood and church potlucks (where you could choose from several different family recipes of potato salads all in one sitting). Dill pickle is a nice addition. Although I usually prefer my mom's recipe (cold and with mayo, etc), this recipe is a nice change now and then. Thanks, Friedel!

I made this at my husband's request. His mom always made GPS and he thought the ingredients looked right. He was very happy. We both enjoyed the bacon-vinegar flavor with just a little sweet taste. We tried it both warm and cold and I prefered it warm, he liked it either way. My son got in on the action and gave it a thumbs up as well. Thanks!!

Instant pot is a great tool for this recipe. Skip the flour and make sure you have enough liquid according to your instant pot instructions.. (Use chicken broth or water.) Saute bacon, dice rather than slice potatoes, add all the other ingredients and cook on high pressure for 5 minutes with a quick release.
