  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  • In a bowl cream shortening and sugar. Beat in eggs one at a time.
  • In a seperate bowl sift together flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cloves, nutmeg, and cinnamon.
  • Add applesauce to creamed mixture alternating with dry ingredients, beating after each addition. (Dry, beat, applesauce, beat, dry, beat, applesauce, beat, etc.).
  • Stir in raisins, dates, and pecans.
  • Bake in a greased and floured bundt pan for 90 minutes, or until brown and done all the way through.
