  1. In a large bowl, mix molasses, brown sugar, and shortening.
  2. Mix in remaining ingredients until incorporated.
  3. Cover and refrigerate at least 2 hours, and up to a week.
  4. Preheat oven to 350 (F).
  5. Roll dough 1/4 inch thick on floured board.
  6. Cut with floured gingerbread cutter.
  7. Place about 2 inches apart on lightly greased cookie sheet.
  8. Bake 10-12 minutes.
  9. Decorate with frosting.
