“I had to modify the original recipe to make it gluten free. Make sure all ingredients are gluten-free - especially the butterscotch bits. Nestle's Butterscotch bits have barley protein in them. My family believes these are a lot tastier than plain Rice Krispie Treats and they are quick and easy!”

Ingredients Nutrition

  • 14 cup margarine
  • 6 ounces butterscotch chips (Hersey's)
  • 16 ounces large marshmallows
  • 4 cups Rice Chex (gluten-free)
  • 4 cups Corn Chex (gluten-free)

Directions

  1. Place 1/2 stick of margarine in large microwaveable bowl.
  2. Cover with wax paper and microwave for 1 minute.
  3. Add butterscotch bits to melted margarine.
  4. Dump marshmallows on top of butterscotch bits.
  5. Cover bowl again with wax paper and microwave for 3 minute.

  9. Add Chex and mix throughly.

  11. Grease hands and press into pan evenly.
  12. Wait a couple of hours to cool.
  13. Cut and enjoy!
