  1. I am so confused by the ratings on this. The taste and texture of the batter is good, BUT the batter will not stay on the dog. I tried some with the extra rice flour and some without...didn't matter. I had a hard time getting the batter to stick to the dogs raw and then after I cooked them, when we tried to eat them, the batter just fell off in huge slabs. If you want to sit and eat a corn dog with a fork, these will work, but as for a real corndog on a stick sort of thing...it doesn't really work.

  2. Wow! I honestly didn't want to like these as they were awfully time consuming to make (imagine wrapping slightly dried out Play-Doh around a hot dog) but they were oh so good I know I'll be making these often :) I too substituted cornmeal for the listed corn flour, couldn't even find corn flour at the health food store ? Is there such a thing? We had a pack of 8 hot dogs, and 2 1/2 of them were left once the batter was gone. However, a half of a dog was enough for me and each of my boys ages 2, 5 and 7, so I'm not real sure about the servings.

  3. Excellent gluten-free recipe. My DH was excited to be able to eat corn dogs again and I know I will make this recipe again and again. I couldn't find cornflour so I substituted cornmeal and I didn't have wooden skewers so I just cut the hot dogs in half, fried them and then we ate them with our fingers. Very tasty.
