Golden French Toast

"I found this recipe in a TOH flyer. The addition of cardamon to the recipe is what intrigued me. I just finished making this, and it was not as good as I thought it would be. I agree with the reviewer; it's no more than a 3-star recipe. There are so many excellent recipes on 'Zaar, that I doubt I will make this recipe again."

 1. This was okay. I'm used to milk in French Toast, so if I make this again I'll beat that in along with the batter. The orange juice and orange peel is really nice in this.

I am a Yankee transplant to the low country. My mom was English, so my cooking style reflects this. My favorite cookbook was McCall's Cookbook which is no longer in print. I've been married to a gourmand for 41 years, so I get lots of practice cooking. We have three daughters that I share recipes with and seven grandchildren -- none old enough to cook yet, but I think we have some budding chefs!
