Golden Glazed Sweet Potatoes or Yams

  • Scrub raw sweet potatoes and Cook in 1" of boiling salted water, covered, for 25-30 minutes or until tender ( skip step for canned yams). Cool and remove skins.Cut into large chunks.
  • Combine butter, brown sugar, corn syrup, lemon juice and grated rind into a large frying pan. Bring to boiling. Boil 5 minutes, stirring ( careful not to burn).
  • Add sweet potatoes ( or Yams).
  • Cook over low heat, basting often, 10-15 minutes or until potatoes are piping hot and well glazed.

Hello fellow cooks-I am on OBGYN doctor and I am new to this website. . I love RecipeZaar since there are so many, easy, delicious, tested recipes. Between myself and my boyfriend, we have 5 children so there is always someone hungry-the family is so happy about the new, freshly cooked foods that have been gracing our table as of late.
