- 1 (15 ounce) can gooseberries (in light syrup)
- 1⁄2 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1 tablespoon cider vinegar
- 2 teaspoons cider vinegar (yes, again)
- 1⁄8 teaspoon salt
- 1 pinch allspice
- 1 pinch ground cinnamon
- 1 pinch ground cloves
directions
- In a small saucepan, combine berries, sugar, vinegar & salt.
- Simmer 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Add alspice, cinnamon & cloves & simmer an additional 10 minutes.
- Cool & refrigerate.
