  • Split rolls in half horizontally; and brown under broiler or on skillet. Place rolls cut side up on a cookie sheet pan and set aside.
  • Mix the 5 tuna salad ingredients. Refrigerate until ready to make the sandwiches.
  • Horizontally slice tomatoes of choice.
  • Divide tuna salad into 8 portionsl and place each portion atop a browned roll half.
  • Top each with i-2 slices tomato.
  • Top each with a slice of cheese.
  • Turn on your oven broiler and place pan of sandwiches 4 inches below broiling element. Watch carefully and remove when cheese melts to your satisfaction. ( I do not care for charred or brown cheese; so I remove as soon as cheese drapes over the tomatoes.) Serve immediately. Yum!
  • Tip: For a large group, the sandwiches may be compiled several hours before needed and broiled right before serving. Enjoy -- .
