"It was imperative that my mom make this every year for Christmas when I was small. It remains one of my favorite Christmas treats still today. Always brings back special memories."

ingredients

2 cups sugar
¹⁄₄ cup cocoa
¹⁄₂ cup milk
¹⁄₂ cup butter
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 pinch salt
¹⁄₂ cup crunchy peanut butter
3 cups oats (instant or quick-cooking)

directions

Mix sugar, cocoa, milk and butter in a large dutch oven.
Put on medium heat and bring to a boil.
Remove from heat and cool 1 minute.
Add vanilla, salt, peanut butter and oats.
Stir well.
Drop by teaspoon onto cookie sheet lined with wax paper.
Let cool in fridge.

this candy was special we all loved it and the kids ate it all when we were not looking. this is on the candy list for the holidays. used 2 teaspoons vanilla as we like it and the flavor was good with the peanut butter.
