- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1⁄2 cup butter
- 1 cup confectioners' sugar
- 1 egg
- 2 teaspoons almond extract
- 2 1⁄2 cups flour
directions
- add salt, butter, and confectioners' sugar to a bowl and mix with electric mixer.
- in a separate bowl mix egg and almond extract, add to the mixture.
- add flour to the mix and continue to mix till its incorporated
- divide the dough in 1/2 and place in 2 separate bowls.
- add desired food colors to the balls of dough.
- roll the dough into ropes, twist together, cut to desired lengths and form into candy cane shapes and bake.
