Directions

  1. Sift together flour, baking powder, salt, baking soda, and sugar into a large bowl.
  2. With pastry blender, cut butter into flour mix until it is the consistency of coarse corn meal.
  3. With fork, stir in egg, milk, and vanilla; mix well, with hands.
  4. Form into a ball.
  5. Wrap in plastic wrap; refrigerate at least 2 hours.
  6. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  7. Lightly grease cookie sheets.
  8. Divide dough into 4 parts.
  9. Roll about 1/8" thick on a lightly floured surface; cut out shapes with cookie cutter.
  10. Place 1" apart on cookie sheet.
  11. Bake at 350 degrees for 7 minutes, or until light golden.
