Grandma's Biscuits

"I raised 9 kids and fostered 1 and they all will come and ask for biscuits. It is far cheaper than light bread and goes much better with gravy. It was originally a pour and dip instead of a recipe but my grandchildren wanted to know how to make them so I paid more attention to amounts."

RECIPE SUBMITTED BY

I am recently widowed and am looking for recipes to cut to fit one. Many can be made and frozen in 1 serving bags. I live in a small town in central Texas. I spend time with my children's families . I only have 9 birth kids, 1 foster and 42 grand/greatgrand kids I spent years pasting and copying recipes in an old note book as I was raising my kids and this "blue book" has been my favorite as well as the favorite of my family. In fact most of them have made their own copies and added to it. I spend much of my time doing crochet or searching things on the computer. My mother-in-law used to make a dish we now refer to as Maw-maw stew so when kids or grands come they want stew and Mother's biscuits. When one has cooked for a big family when growing up, and worked in restaurants, and coked for a big family, the restaurants can't compare to home cooking. Some day I will share some of out favorites with others.
