Grandmother's Stuffing Base

"This is my grandmother's base stuffing recipe. It's not Thanksgiving with out it. Use it as a base and add different ingredients such as bulk sausage, sauteed mushrooms, pecans, cranberries, etc. I've thrown everything into this stuffing and it's all delicious."

  • Saute carrots, onions, celery and peppers in stick of butter until semi-soft and onions are translucent. Add sage and cook for a few more minutes.
  • Place cubed bread in large mixing bowl. Add butter mixture and chicken broth until desired moistness. This is the time to add optional ingedients as well.
  • Place in casserole dish and cook at 350 until heated through.
  • Enjoy!
