Great Granny's Banana Bread

“This is hands down my favorite banana bread recipe and I'm posting it here for safe keeping. I got the recipe off the Cooking Light website and they give credit to Kathleen Daeleman and her book "Cooking Thin With Chef Kathleen". This bread isn't too sweet and I love the texture. If your using a darker baking pan, check the bread at about 1 hour.”

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F Grease and flour a 9x5 inch pan.
  2. Sift together flour, baking powder, and baking soda.
  3. In a separate bowl cream butter, sugar, then add mashed bananas.
  4. Add eggs one at a time, then add sour cream or yogurt, lemon juice, salt, and nuts.
  5. Add to dry ingredients and mix until just combined.
  6. Bake approximately 1 hours 20 minutes Start checking with a toothpick at about 1 hour.
