Ingredients Nutrition


  1. Heat oil and fry onions until soft.
  2. If using raw meat and potatoes, brown for 5 minutes.
  3. Add 1 cup of hot water (2 cups water if using rice).
  4. Add rice, herbs and seasonings.
  5. Cover and cook 20 min until meat is cooked and potatoes or rice are soft.
  6. Remove from heat.
  7. Mix in cheese, egg and nuts (and cooked meat if you didn't use raw meat).
  8. Melt butter and oil in small pot.
  9. Oil a square or rectangular baking pan.
  10. Lay half of the sheets of filo, oiling lightly between each sheet.
  11. Spread on meat filling.
  12. Lay remaining filo sheets, oiling between sheets.
  13. Bake at 350 degrees F. for 1 hour.
