directions

  • Preheat oven to 350.
  • Slice the loaf of French bread horizontally through the middle so that you have two"boats".
  • Place bread on jelly roll pan, or in other large casserole dish, cut sides up.
  • (Or you can place bread in a"boat" made out of foil, for the grill).
  • Combine all ingredients, including garlic salt and seasoned salt to taste.
  • (I use liberal amounts).
  • With spatula, spread each half of the French bread with the mixture.
  • Bake for 15 minutes.

  1. I come from a SUPER Greek family, and everybody loved it! Instead of the canned olives i used pitted kalamata olives and chopped them up myself. I also used LOTS of fresh garlic instead of the garlic salt. Thanks for sharing!

  2. Decadent! I left out the olives. This was nice change from our usual garlic bread. Thanks for sharing the recipe.

  3. Good golly Miss LorenLou this was spectacular! What a great idea and recipe! My whole family kept grabbing them off the plate till they were gone. Next time I may make another half recipe to make sure they get their fill! If you like black olives this is a must try!

  4. Excellent. Thank you so much for sharing! =)

  5. This is indeed a wonderful Garlic Bread. My guests loved it. I did have some white (old) cheddar cheese I wanted to use up and mixed it with the mozzarella then adding only a very light sprinkle of seasoning salt. It was a hit with all the guests. Will be making this again soon. Thanks for sharing.

  2. OMG... I could make a meal of this bread all by itself! What a wonderful combination of flavors. I used minced garlic in place of the garlic salt. I'll be making this over and over again.

  3. Fantastic! I used fresh garlic in place of the garlic salt that I minced in the food processor. I added the olives & green onions and whirled for a couple of seconds then added the rest of the ingredients. Very simple to make. I wish I could give it more than 5 stars. I will be serving this again! Thanks for a great recipe.

I live in Sugar Land, Texas. I love to try new recipes. My husband jokes that if he likes something, I never make it again for 6 months! My children are very picky, but do have their favorites that I try to include in our menu more often than every 6 months.
