Green Pepperwich

"I got the idea for this from recipe #14270. It is sort of like sloppy joes, but with a green pepper twist. This freezes very well. Simple put it in rigid containers or ziploc bags and freeze. To use, defrost it for 24 hours in the refrigerator and reheat in the microwave."

  1. This was REALLY tasty comfort food! Easy to make too! I used grass-fed beef, 1 extremely large green pepper and 1 whole medium onion, and I opted for 3 large cloves of fresh garlic instead of the garlic salt. This was plenty for our meal as I didn't want to serve 15! I added 1/4 teaspoon white pepper and 1/2 teaspoon sea salt for our tastes, and I used a Lundberg rice combo - brown, black japonica and wehani. This was done in a jiffy, and it was very tasty. Something I will definitely make again. Thanks for posting - made for FALL PAC 2012.

I miss being able to sort through my saved recipes by rating, or even being able to search in what were my cookbooks. ?I miss the forum games/swaps/events. ?I feel sadness for all the time I wasted saving recipes that I can't find and disappointment in the people working at food.com who decided that all these changes were necessary. ?I read in the blog that read-only forums will be back when the technicalities can be worked out. ?But when will I be able to find a recipe in my own recipe box. ?What sense is there in a recipe website that doesn't allow you to search for one of your recipes? ?I used to think that I could start whittling down my collection of paper cookbooks, and hand written note cards because I could find whatever I needed online. ?Perhaps I still can, but not here. ?Thank God I didn't get rid of any of them.
