  • Preheat oven to 400°F.
  • Beat butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add egg and beat slightly to combine.
  • In a separate bowl, sift together flour, baking powder, and cocoa. Add to batter gradually. Then stir in the oatmeal.
  • Roll cookie dough into balls and then place on baking sheet.
  • Using a buttered glass dipped into decorative sugars, press lightly to spread into more of a cookie shape. (These cookies spread while baking, so be sure not to crowd the tray.).
  • Bake in the middle of the oven for 8-10 minutes.
