  1. Brush the tomatoes with olive oil and place directly on the grill rack over hot coals.
  2. Turn the tomatoes until they are blackened and blistered on all sides.(This will take about 5-7 minutes.).
  3. Remove the tomatoes from the grill and rub off the skin.
  4. Season with salt and fresh ground black pepper.
