Grilled Portabella Mushroom Burger

- 4 -6 portabella mushroom caps
- 4 garlic cloves, chopped
- 2 tablespoons italian seasoning (NOT dried Italian dressing)
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 4 -6 slices smoked gouda cheese
- sliced tomatoes (optional)
- lettuce (optional)
- roasted garlic mayonnaise (optional)
- hamburger bun
directions
- Place portabella mushroom caps, chopped garlic, Italian seasoning and olive oil into a large sealable plastic bag.
- Shake to mix all ingredients and place in fridge for 30 minutes.
- Once 30 minutes has passed, grill mushroom caps on medium heat on either grill pan or skillet. *Start with gills down. Caps will only need to be grilled 2-3 minutes on each side, any more time and the caps will become mushy.
- Grill burger buns slightly and add mushroom cap. Add cheese, veggies, condiments and enjoy!
