Grilled Sea Scallops

"I love scallops and got this recipe from the local grocery store, Dierbergs. I haven't tried it yet, but think it sounds great over rice."

  • Thread scallops onto skewers. If using bamboo skewers, soak in water for 10 minutes before using.
  • In a small bowl, combine remaining ingredients and then rub onto scallops.
  • TO GRILL: Place on oiled grill over hot coals. Grill for 2-3 minutes per side until opaque throughout.
  • TO BROIL: Place on broiler pan and broil 4-5 inches from heat source for 2-3 minutes per side until opaque throughout.

  1. SCALLOPS COOKED IN A FRY PAN WITH A LOT OF BUTTER IS THE SIMPLEST WAY. JUST FLIP THEM OVER WHEN THE EDGES ARE BROWN AND ITS TRANSLUCENT HALFWAT UP ON EACH SIDE. USE HIGH HEAT.
     
  2. Wow! These scallops were divine! And so easy, too! The pepper, thyme, lemon zest combo was delicious, though I must admit to not using the whole thing as it seemed too much (used maybe 2/3 of it). We cooked them on the grill - and can say for certain that these will make it to my dinner table again real soon!
     
  3. These turned out amazing...they were nice and tender and packed a punch of flavor...so easy to prepare...I grilled mine on my George Foreman grill...we just squeezed a bit of lemon juice on top...made for "For Your Consideration" tag game...

  1. Next time, will reduce the salt (I'm not much for salty things!)
